The Belgium office of Critical Airflow Control Systems have secured a major contract for design, project management and commissioning of Phoenix control systems for Centocor in the Netherlands.
Precision pressurisation control of production areas will be achieved using LON based pressure independent Accel II Venturi valves. Celeris controllers will provide highly accurate pressurisation, temperature and humidity control functions in make-up air and tracking pair Control applications. Full integration will be provided to the site-wide BMS.
The contract has been awarded to Critical Airflow Controls, by GTI Process Solutions BV of the Netherlands. Jacobs Engineering of the USA is undertaking the design and project management. Centocor, the world's largest manufacturer of monoclonal antibodies, recently broke ground in the Netherlands on the new state of the art $240 million production facility in Leiden. The new facility will be located within Bioscience Park and will fully operational by 2005.
To be known as "RemiCap 150", this new facility nearly doubles the size of Centocor's production facilities, and will increase employment by 50 percent. Centocor cited the success of its main product, Remicadeâ, as the most important reason behind the expansion. Remicadeâ is a drug used in the treatment of Crohn's disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis whose production has doubled annually every year since being introduced to the market in 1998. |
